Greetings everyone!

My apologies for taking a couple of weeks off from these newsletter updates. August was an incredibly stressful month - my husband finally finished his exams, my parents are moving, my VA is moving, and my husband and kiddo may be moving to our own place in the next month or so - there's a lot of movement, excitement, anticipation and unease.

However, I have a LOT to talk about this week! I was finally able to sit down and go through Dr. Gibson's newest paper analyzing the infamous radiographs from Le Corset (O'Followell 1908). The findings are astounding! This is a thorough debunking that *everyone* needs to know about.

I also added additional side research on deformed pelvis, corsets, and maternal demise on my Patreon for $5 tier supporters and up.

Did you know that Dr. Rebecca Gibson contributed to Solaced?

Rebecca Gibson wrote story #23: "The Corseted Bioanthropologist" on page 104 of the paperback

She discusses her experience with hypermobility and how her ribs have easily, spontaneously, and painfully dislocated from a young age. Wearing corsets prevents these dislocations, and help with pain management. She discusses her career in bioanthropology and what it's like to straddle a seemingly double-life of wearing modern corsetry and its potential benefits in her personal life, with studying historical corsetry and its potential harms in her professional life.

It's a fascinating read, and although I'm not supposed to have favorites, Dr. Gibson's testimony is one of my favorites.
