(Yield: 12–24)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup white chocolate baking chips
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup macadamia nuts, chopped and divided
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease either an 8 x 11 ½-inch pan or a 13 x 9-inch pan.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add it to the egg mixture and mix well. Mix in the white chocolate baking chips, semisweet chocolate chips, and half of the chopped nuts.
Spoon the mixture into either a greased 8 x 11 ½-inch pan or a 13 x 9-inch pan. Spread evenly. Sprinkle with the remaining chopped nuts.
Bake until the top begins to crack and becomes golden brown, 25–30 minutes for the smaller pan; 22–26 minutes for the larger pan. Cool on a wire rack for at least 20–30 minutes. Cut into squares.
