I recently spoke to a mentor/professor I have not seen for 3 years outside of shared social media posts. He told me I seem really busy. I dared to ask, how would you know? Turns out he based it on the Folami he remembered from maybe as long as 5 years ago. He assumed I was doing the day-to-day tasks of the projects. He didn’t realize HTI Catalysts is a growing network of consultants. These days other Catalysts lead the projects and I lead the organization - this allows me to be productive without being overly busy.
This made me think about my story and my voice in relation to my work with HTI Catalysts. I am often questioned, (even by my kids), about what exactly do I do. Well, in addition to supporting the work our Catalysts do in service of our client-partners' missions, I also nurture the Catalysts themselves who join the Network for colleagueship, professional development and consulting opportunities to add to their own portfolios. With the creation of Listening 4 Justice, HTI entered the world of online learning and is now in the midst of a venture that will lead to the launch of a Learning Management System, The HTI Learning Village, which will premier later this year.
This is only part of my story. It’s an integral piece of how my voice shows up in the work where I'm honored to co-create the world that I want to live in.
