Malta House

Dear Friend,

During this scary and stressful time, we hope and pray for your safety, your security and good health.

The Campaign Leadership Team had its meeting last Wednesday by conference call to review a stream-lined and updated plan and timetable for the final phases of the campaign. The Leadership Team agreed to place campaign activity on hold due to the COVID 19 virus and use this time to plan and prepare for our next steps. We will keep you informed as we move forward.

The total raised is nearly $3.7 million against our goal of $4 million from just 110 pledges and gifts. We are excited and looking forward to the successful completion of our campaign efforts in the foreseeable future.

Construction continues at Malta House 2. We are so grateful to the construction crew who have worked tirelessly on this project. The progress they are making is impressive. In the coming weeks, we’ll share a video link showing the progress.

The Fairfield County Catholic devoted substantial coverage to Malta House 2’s progress in the most recent issue of the paper. The Fairfield County Catholic reaches more than 100,000 households across Fairfield County. The article is on page 15.

Thank you for your prayers for our mothers, babies and we are grateful to God to report that at this time everyone is healthy and well. We look forward to jump-starting our active campaign once the virus is under control. Below is the prayer we shared at the recent Board meeting. As we are in the midst of a world-wide pandemic that has afflicted the elderly and most vulnerable among us we include this prayer for all of you and all who live amongst us.

Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Help us through these times of uncertainty and sorrow. For all who have contracted the coronavirus, we pray for care and healing. For those who are particularly vulnerable, we pray for safety and protection. For all who experience fear or anxiety, we pray for peace of mind and spirit. For our brothers and sisters around the world, we pray for shared solidarity. For public officials and decision makers, we pray for wisdom and guidance. Please be with the grieving families of those who have passed away. Please have mercy on those who have died, may they be with You in heaven. Please stand at the side of all medical professionals who are putting themselves at risk while they work to bring healing to others. Father, during this time may your Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to all. Grant peace. Grant comfort. Grant healing. Be with us, Lord. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the support we need to start our new home. This transition is such an exciting time for Malta House! We have so much to be grateful for.

With gratitude,
