Hate Speech

Asaval-Dasavali, 27 March - 2 April
Dito Chubinidze, journalist:
„If you ask some cripples of soul from the mind-bended sect, like Magda Anikashvili or Salome Asatiani, the wiretapping should be not by the state intelligence services, but by LGBT activists or NGOs! Some may even say – let’s official transfer this obligation to the American embassy, because they are listening to us unofficially anyway!“

Turkophobia

Obiektivi, Batumi Studio, 23 March
Elguja Paichadze, Patriots Alliance:
„So many of our young people, hundreds, go to study in Turkey each year. They teach and feed them for free, and when they go home for holidays, they give them gifts to bring to their families. So how do you think, does this neighbor and so-called “well-wishing” country create good attitude for us among these children, or does it create attitude according to its interests?“

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 19 March
Vazha Otarashvili, Patriots Alliance:
"We see that there are all conditions for foreigners to do well, especially Turks, right? Turkey’s state policy there is such that it actually is conquering Georgia piece by piece, building by building, street by street. Here in Tbilisi, to say nothing about Batumi, look how every day they open Turkish cafes, diners, restaurants, hotels, and et cetera, on Plekhanovi, Rustaveli and other avenues and streets. This is a conquest of a country without a war."

Georgia and World, 27 March, Sakinformi 28 March
Sandro Bregadze, Nationals:
“I have just received information that several days ago three Turks raped a minor Georgian girl who was taken to hospital with injuries. This fact is being carefully concealed, and rich Turks managed to bribe the poor family".

Georgia and World, 17 March
David Mkheidze, author:
"This “what to Georgia?” [a call by some protesters in Batumi on 11 March] was a dress rehearsal by the forces that are waiting for a suitable moment to take Achara away from the motherland in some form, and by these forces I mean thousands of Turks to whom Saakashvili gave Georgian citizenship".

Georgia and World, 29 March
Father David Kvlividze:
"A little while ago Turkish Prime Minister said that Turkey was facing great threats from the Balkans, Damascus, Yemen and Batumi. And that was when the Batumi riots happened. Now some may think that this statement is not connected to the riots at all, but I think otherwise".

Asaval-Dasavali, 20-26 March
Mikheil Tsagareli, astrologer:
„You should be afraid not of Russia but of Turkey. There are 30 thousand Turkish citizens of Georgia in Adjara, and Aghmashenebeli Avenue is a Turkish district already. They [Turks] are afraid only of Russia – they lost 12 battles out of 13, that’s why they are not attacking us.“

Kavkasia, Spektri, 17 March
Levan Lortkipanidze, Auditorium 115:
„Dictatorship is being established there [in Turkey], and those people are willing to conduct economic expansion: why do they have to change borders, send troops, it’s enough to conquer the market, resources, rivers, everything valuable in Batumi, and take it all over. And I say again, so that I am not blamed for phobia and ultra-nationalism, and so on – it is not only Georgians who are discriminated against in Batumi“.

Georgia and World, 24 March
Giorgi Otkhmezuri, history doctor:
"Turkey is our neighbor and we need to be friends, but today they are printing textbooks in Turkey, where Adjara is shown as a Turkish territory, which was a part of Turkey for 300 years, and taken from it by the Russian Empire, but they say nothing about part of which country Adjara was before. Friendship cannot be one-sided, we must protect what’s ours… We must be very careful in our relationship with Turkey".

Xenophobia

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 30 March
David Tarkhan-Mouravi, Patriots Alliance:
„If a non-Georgian requests citizenship, a differentiating approach is needed... You all know my approach, I think that neither Iranian citizens, nor Turkish citizens should receive Georgian citizenship, unless they are Georgians, I have never concealed this“.

Asaval-Dasavali, 27 March - 2 April
Elizbar Javelidze, People’s Assembly:
„They will do worth with us! We wanted to be Europeans, so just like the Arabs treat Europeans in Europe, they will do the same with us! The orgy of this foreign tribe in Georgia must be urgently prohibited! I don’t want for them to bring here Arabs, Africans and Asians in exchange for visa liberalization! Soon we shall not be able to stay in our homeland!“

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 1 March
Giorgi Maghlakelidze, Patriots Alliance:
„So Georgia will be taken over by the Arabs, Syrians, Iraqis, Indians, Chinese. This is the sad reality and we should try our best to place these relationships in civilized, mutual respect framework, there is a good word in diplomacy – “mirror relationship.” How we are towards them, they should be towards us, not more, not less.”

Alia, 20-26 March
Jondi Baghaturia, Georgian Troupe:
"Our place is already being taken by the Indians, Chinese, Arabs, Turks, and so on… Arabs, Indians, Chinese and neighbor states are fighting for Georgia among themselves."

Alia, 20-26 March
Sandro Bregadze, Nationals:
"It is worse in Batumi, and in fact Georgians are turned into the slaves of the foreigners, who make them work in suspicious places "

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 1 March
Bondo Mdzinarashvili, anchor:
“Jobs should exist first of all for the citizens of Georgia, and if you will I will say it more precisely – first of all for the Georgians, because Georgians in their own homeland should feel like masters of this homeland. And now foreigners have spread to too many spheres and there is no place left in Georgia for the Georgians, and perhaps that is why everyone wants to go abroad“.

Georgia and World, 31 March
David Mkheidze, author:
"The real demographic picture in Georgia is much worse than the one suggested by the UN. Let them call me a xenophobe if they want, or a racist, but I will say my peace: Sinification and Turkification can be easily seen already! If Georgians remain in Europe forever, then that will be it: The foreigners have bought a large part of Georgia’s agricultural lands, the rest will also be bought by others, and soon in Tbilisi it will be just like in Paris where you can hardly see that you are in France and not in some African country".

Asaval-Dasavali, 27 March - 2 April
Giorgi Gigauri, journalist:
„Yes, these Arabs or Africans feel in Georgia not as guests but as masters! And you know why?! Because on the Freedom Square and Plekhanovi there are numerous brothels where they are having fun with Georgian girls!.. Georgia should not accept any Arabs, Asians or Africans from the states where they don’t even know what Georgia is and who Georgians are! And those who have already brought themselves to Georgia, should be sent back as painlessly as possible!“

Religious Discrimination

Alia, 27 March - 2 April
Jondi Baghaturia, Georgian Troupe:
"Who are the Jehovah Witnesses?! Peaceful believers or extremists who are engaged in covert activities!!!"

Sakinformi, 6 March

Editors: "...The chairman of the Muslim Union of Georgia Tariel Nakaidze – provocateur, who always claims that Muslims are considered second-class people in Georgia... It is interesting why still are not punished those who staged the attempt to bloodily ruin the 8 October 2016 election in the Kvemo Kartli region, which is largely populated by Muslims? Were the so called Georgian Muslim Union and its leader Tariel Nakaidze calling their coreligionists to rebellion?!"

Asaval-Dasavali, 27 March - 2 April

Giorgi Gigauri, journalist: „The Azerbaijani government still has not allowed regular religious service even in the single Kumukhi St. George Church, so that the Hereti Georgians there can pray freely!
And this while the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia are building huge new mosques!“

Georgia and World, 1 March
Basil Mkalavishvili:
"Members of the Jehovan sect have invaded Georgia and use various insidious means to plant immorality and filth in the people, and lead them towards Europe thus “prepared".

Georgia and World, 16 March
Gulbaat Rtskhiladze, Eurasia Institute:
"This ideological argumentation that construction of a mosque is an expression of religious freedom and belongs to the fundamental human rights is incorrect, since not a mosque gets prohibited, but a specific construction, at a specific place. The presently functioning historical mosque in Batumi fully satisfies requerements of the relatively small-numbered Batumi Muslims, and the Muslims living in other towns and villages of Adjara really don’t experience a lack of Mosques".

Alia, 6-12 March
Dito Chubinidze, journalist:
"On 11 July in the Patriarchy, at the meeting of the Holy Synod when the issue of giving special status to the Armenian Church and other sects (I am an Orthodox Christian and for me all other denominations are heretical sects – D. C. [Dito Chubinidze]) was discussed, things got serious."

Imedi, Chronika, 24 March
Edisher Karchava, the Patriarchy lawyer:
"The rights of religious minorities must be protected, but equalizing their rights with the dominant religion is a kind of discrimination against the dominant Church ".

Homophobia

Marshalpress, 7 March
Merab Kachakhidze, Georgian Dream:
"Yes, in Europe a graffer civil servant is a graffer, a bad manager is bad manager, a lazy and idle person is lazy and idle there as well, a whore is a whore, a gay is gay, a drug addict is drug addict… Yes, for every normal European family (there are abnormal ones everywhere) it is a tragedy if a member of the family has some sexual or psycho-mental deviation… So, don’t follow the rubbish “demands” of some and look into the eyes of the healthy Europe".

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 5 March
Dimitri Lortkipanidze, United Democratic Movement:
"The anti-discrimination law itself is not as alarming as the two absolutely unacceptable terms it contains. The terms that created the possibility for the supporters of the so-called same-sex marriage to make their case, which is just what is happening now. This is a possibility to eliminate discrimination by sexual orientation and gender identity. "

Asaval-Dasavali, 13-19 March
Sandro Bregadze, Nationals:
„I want to ask [Giorgi] Kvirikashvili and [Tea] Tsulukiani – when you were protecting pederasts and the bandits who fought against the Church, did Europe appreciate it? It did not, it shamed you publicly and humiliated you. Resign from government quickly!.“

Asaval-Dasavali, 20-26 March
Levan Chachua,
Georgian Idea: „The national movement of the 1990s, led by great figures Zviad Gamsakhurdia and Merab Kostava, saved Georgia from the “red Bolsheviks”. We have chosen to liberate Georgia from the “blue Bolsheviks” [light blue being considered a gay color].“

Alia, 13-19 March
Sandro Bregadze, Nationals:
"Policeman who is protecting the pederast-feminists. All the pederast community is praising that policeman... Strasbourg has f*cked you, and you deserve worse. Go defend the pederasts and feminists, while arresting and persecuting true patriots – Strasbourg will still f*ck you, no point sucking up to it!!!

Georgia and World, 9 March
Luka Maisuradze, journalist:
"During 60 years of the Soviet Union’s existence, from 1922 to 1991, everyone was equal in the country, there were no beggars, everyone worked, and many never even heard about filth like homosexuality and other immorality".

Georgia and World, 9 March
Editors:
"The law on the marriage of pederasts was adopted by the Parliament in 2014. 105 MPs out of 200 liked the law, while 95 where against it. The Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Finland is against the same-sex marriage. About a half of priests said they would not conduct marriages of sodomites".

Sakinformi, 27 March
Arno Khidirbegishvili, chief editor:
"It is shameful that some “faces” of the Georgian Dream, afraid of being viewed as being backwards, recently said on TV that they had tried marijuana and know what it is... Maybe they tried heroin too?! Only once, just to know what it is?! Or maybe anal sex, on the principle that doing it once doesn’t make you a pederast?! I wonder if they killed someone, just to know what feelings are at that moment?! Is it necessary to try all mortal sins to know about them?!"

Asaval-Dasavali, 6-12 March
Kristophore Tsamaladze, bishop:
„Let nobody think that proclivity to the sodomic sin lies within our people, no this was done on purpose by the dirty Soviet KGB which placed pedophiles and sodomites to serve in the Church on purpose.”

Georgia and World, 29 March
David Kvlividze, cleric:
What can we call this, this is the peak of flith [about holding Miss Transgender 2017 competition]. Great empires got destroyed because of such immorality… Generally, immorality destroys not just individuals and families, but also states and empires. Because this is a great sin, followed by a great punishment.

Georgia and World, 29 March
David Kvlividze, cleric:
"I am asking the government representatives: how do you think, will the Abkhazs and Ossetians want to live together with Georgia that is drowning in the sin of Sodom-Gomorra?! I repeat, supporters of this filth are enemies of the country’s territorial integrity, they support disintegration of the country".

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 24 March
Tamar Kiknadze, professor:
"They [liberals] say that the marriage of lesbians and gays, and children adoption, is a norm. Our rights are violated, so this is some kind of anomaly, some madness..."

Georgia and World, 28 March
Lado Sadghobelashvili, Free Generation:
„The most popular nest of drag addicts and sodomites in Tbilisi [Basiani club] belongs to the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, no less!!!“

Georgia and World, 30 March
Elizbar Javelidze, academic:
"Let the Venice Commission look after their own pederasts, with whom they are filled, and leave us alone. The Georgian Constitution is no business of theirs…“

Anti-Western sentiments

Marshalpress, 21 March
Vazha Otarashvili, Patriots Alliance:
„This [an 8 March rally for women’s rights] is the issue imposed by the world Masonic organizations on a small nation like the Georgians, so that it gets destroyed and obliterated. Such artificially invented problems strike small nations like ours... You [the women rights movement] are shameful people, you have shamed us all. Such movement is against God, against Christianity. Your body was created by God, you are maids of God... By such politics imposed from abroad they want to destroy Georgian identity. Nobody prohibits women from doing anything, it’s just you who have this problem“.

Asaval-Dasavali, 27 March - 2 April
Tamaz Mechiauri, Tamaz Mechiauri – For United Georgia:
„Since Trump so far is too busy for Georgia, the NGOs finances by Soros and the so called LGBT representatives are trying to exploit the situation and to manage causing as much damage as possible. This was shown by the Batumi events too.“

Asaval-Dasavali, 6-12 March
Soso Shatberashvili, The Left Alliance:
"I say it directly: The Strasbourg court strengthened pro-Russian attitudes in Georgia! Especially since Russia does not oblige us to hold gay parades, because it also fights against that!“

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 5 March
Dimitri Lortkipanidze, United Democratic Movement:
"The issue was that the anti-discrimination legislation was the first sign in this direction. Of course, an insidious reactionary bureaucrat in the West, let’s call him a blue commissar, with directives like the European charter, or the one for democratic citizenship, or human rights, or about racism and intolerance, let’s say a European charter, which demanded from Georgia to take certain obligations on regulations concerning the same-sex people. In the end, it expressed itself in the anti-discrimination law."

Asaval-Dasavali, 13-19 March
Jaba Khubua, journalist:
„The first one to be concerned would be Ian Kelly, who said nothing about the terrible events in Batumi, while if the issue concerned “violation of rights” of the pederasts and lesbians, he would go out to “defend democracy” at once!“

Georgia and World, 17 March
Nika Korinteli, journalist:
"Lately the ideology spread in the West – feminism – has found followers in Georgia too, first of all the so called NGOs that are generously financed from the West and do everything to destroy Georgian values, including traditional Georgian family and Orthodox Christianity ".
http://bit.ly/2mQpq4k

Georgia and World, 15 March
Armaz Saneblidze, journalist:
"On the Disney children channel they showed a same-sex kiss for the first time. It happened in the third season of the adventure series Star vs. the Forces of Evil. Do you think that something terrible happened and the American public opinion exploded? Nothing of the sort happened, nobody paid attention… This shows what kind of morality they have there".

Asaval-Dasavali, 20-26 March
Mikheil Tsagareli, astrologer:
„Let them call me whatever they want, Russia did not take away our religion, nor language, nor moral identity – and Europe will gradually take it away, they will morally debauch us through LGBT, they will take away our traditions, they will bring here Arabs and Turks… Do not celebrate visa liberalization.“

Gender

Obiektivi, Night Studio, 19 March
Vazha Otarashvili, Patriots Alliance:
" ...A normal woman would not make such statement. I think psychiatrists should check them [8 March rally participants]. I pity them, you know? ...They are somehow unsatisfied ladies, and I don’t want to insult them, but it’s like those who stand in the street and near the Circus, and try to attract men... That was a PR event, saying “we have this, so come”. Why did they need to be near Parliament, let them just stand in the street, like some stand near the Circus, etc."

Asaval-Dasavali, 6-12 March
Dimitri Lortkipanidze, United Democratic Movement:
„So, the GYLA wants to strengthen sanctions against men because of domestic violence, so that women know that they have a right to have children without husbands, file complaints against the husbands to the police if they do something bad in the family, and so on. The neo-liberal forces are not satisfied with just the anti-discrimination law and now are trying to imprint their gender hysteria directly in the Constitution!“
