Hello,
I hope July is treating you well! We're definitely in the dog days of summer, though in our house, it's more like the cat days of summer. Mainly because one of our cats has been bringing us gifts. Imagine walking into your living room to discover a long black snake on the floor in front of you. (The geek thought it was an electrical cord!) We got rid of the snake, and then two hours later and in the same spot, our cat plops down a dead mouse. I'm sure she was proud of herself, but my gross-out meter is now in the red zone...
I had two big goals this summer: 1) To start writing WILD KIND OF WONDERFUL, book 6 in my Sweet Life in Seattle series. 2) Get my younger son to drive a car. Happily, the first goal is coming along great. I started writing WKOW about a month ago. At this point, I'm planning to release the book in January.
My other summer goal is not going so great. For some reason, my teenager couldn't care less about learning to drive. Has anyone else experienced this? He drags his feet and mostly sees it as a chore.
Other updates: TRUTH ABOUT NERDS & BEES is currently being proofread! Yay! It releases on August 22.
I had a couple of people email me with nice comments about the new paperback covers for the series, so I figured I'd share them with you in my newsletter.
