Yasmin Waetge and Lua Mota Santos have successfully completed this month their master’s degrees, by defending theses on “Regulação e Novas Tecnologias no Setor Financeiro: A Caracterização do Sandbox Regulatório" ("Regulation and New Technologies in the Financial Sector: A Characterisation of the Regulatory Sandbox") and "A Inconstitucionalidade do Crime de Insolvência Negligente por Ausência de Recurso a uma Medida de Recuperação" ("The Unconstitutionality of the Crime of Negligent Insolvency due to Lack of Recourse to a Recovery Measure").

Three articles were published in June indicating an affiliation to the NOVA Consumer Lab.

Fabrizio Esposito and Leonor Gambôa Machado published an article (also with Mateusz Grochowski) in Volume 6-2 of the Católica Law Review with the title “Será que o Direito português confere melhor proteção aos consumidores vulneráveis que o direito da União Europeia no contexto de cláusulas abusivas em contratos de consumo? Uma análise jurídica e económica” (“Does Portuguese law afford better protection to vulnerable consumers than EU law in the context of unfair terms in consumer contracts? A legal and economic analysis”).

Jorge Morais Carvalho co-authored (with Josep Maria Bech Serrat) “The Impact of Covid-19 on EU Travel Law – Are vouchers here to stay?”. The article was published in Issue 1/2022 of the Revue européenne de droit de la consommation.

Jorge Morais Carvalho is also the co-author, with A.R. Lodder, of an article on “Online Platforms: Towards an Information Tsunami with New Requirements on Moderation, Ranking, and Traceability”, published in the European Business Law Review.
