There is no waste in natural farming. Eggshells are a good resource with many uses, including crushing and feeding back to the chickens for calcium.

They can also be used in your potting mix for drainage and sprinkled around the vegetable garden to deter slugs and snails.

TIP:  Wash them before the egg residue dries.

Queensland Arrowroot is a versatile plant to have in the garden.  

Peel and slice up the rhyzomes and dehydrate it to make flour.  You can also cook them in curries and other vegetable dishes or mash like potatoes.  

The Canna plant grows easily from the rhyzomes left in the ground and the leaves can be cut back and used as a mulch or in the compost. 

Avocados are coming on from trees we planted in 2018 and they're delicious!  The trees have been grown using entirely organic methods.

The Fertiliser regime has been approximately bi-monthly using a combination of SONIC Seaweed Bio-Fertiliser, and a couple of times a year adding SONIC Fish Bio-Fertiliser (Hydrolysate), both made fresh on the farm.
