SIX STRINGS ACOUSTIC'S CHILDREN’S PROGRAM

Our Mission:

Our mission at Six Strings Acoustic is to help enrich the lives of Arizona’s Special Needs Children by bringing live music to those that normally wouldn’t have the chance to experience it…but greatly deserve to.

DONATE ALL MONTH LONG

During the entire month of May when you order a Barrio Brewery, “Hipsterville” beer $2.00 will be donated to Six Strings Acoustic Children’s Program as part of a community outreach program sponsored by Genuine Concepts. The participating restaurants/bars include; The Vig (Uptown, Fillmore, Arcadia, McCormick Ranch & McDowell Mountain locations), Linger Longer Lounge, The Little Woody, The Womack, Cobra Arcade Bar, Ladera Taverna y Cocina and the Deli Tavern. We kicked off the month May 2nd by playing a Happy Hour at The Vig, McCormick Ranch. Thanks to everyone who came out to support us and a shout out to Cheryl and Jenny, teachers at Echo Canyon Elementary who stopped by to hear “Baby Shark” one more time. Also, thanks to The Vig’s manager, Steve and Julia, organizer of the event for Genuine Concepts. There are only a few weeks left to enjoy this tasty brew while helping fund live music in our schools. Results of the fundraiser will be published in our June newsletter.

PROM OF THRONES

Chaparral High School’s Special Ed Prom was like walking on to the set of an episode of Game of Thrones. The staff and volunteers really did an amazing job decorating the room like a medieval castle. The Dusty Ramblers Project joined Stuart Epstein to rock the house. Students and teachers told us that having a live band play at their prom was "the best." We hope everyone took home some wonderful memories of the day and talk about their 2019 Prom for years to come. For a little taste of the Dusty Rambler’s Project check out their website:

WE'RE ALL AMPED UP

April was a big month for us thanks to the generosity of our donors. This allowed us to retire our trusty, old Fishman amp held together with scotch tape and purchase a much needed brand new Fender Acoustic. Bluetooth is one of the new amp's features allowing us to stream music from our phone so we can accommodate the students who have karaoke requests. In the first few days of use we had kids that have never wanted to sing before stepping up to the mic. You helped make that happen!!!

GEN•ER•OUS

Generous, adj 1. free in giving or sharing. Thank you Bill Davis for so generously loaning your Canon Mark III camera and Dave Staples for loaning three amazing camera lenses. You guys are truly our heroes and have allowed Board Member Janet Nearhood the tools she needed to capture some of the miraculous moments that happen in the classrooms. One of our goals is to film interviews with parents, teachers and experts and start putting together a video piece to share with everyone so you all can see the benefits that music brings to the lives of our Special Needs kids.

Where we are going:

As we continue to grow we will soon be in need of more musicians to help us bring music into the schools.  Anyone that is interested please contact Stuart@602-796-2056.

We also continue to build and expand our Board of Directors.

How You Can Help:

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a part of the State of Arizona’s Qualifying Charitable Giving Organization’s dollar-for-dollar tax credit program. Our assigned qualifying code is: 20925.

100% of your donations go to support keeping live music in the classrooms when you help fund our Children's Program.
