Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The White House has announced the dates for its 2023 White House Tribal Nations Summit (WHTNS): December 6-7, 2023 in Washington, DC.
Registration is open now and can be accessed here. Due to space constraints, only one Tribal leader per Tribal Nation may register. Tribal leaders who cannot attend, but would like to designate another governmental representative of their Tribal Nation, may do so by emailing TNS@who.eop.gov.
USET SPF recently transmitted a letter to the Biden Administration providing recommendations on the structure and format of the WHTNS, with a goal of conveying to Indian Country, the nation, and the world the United States' recognition of our governmental status.
USET SPF will be providing further information as it becomes available, including through a dedicated webpage. Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP) has funding to support travel for Tribal Leaders/Ambassadors, and has partnered with USET to provide travel stipends. Travel stipends in the amount of $2,500 will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis to Tribal Leaders who attest to their need. Stipends will be provided upon request to one Tribal Leader/Ambassador (as designated by the Tribal Nation) per federally recognized Tribal Nation. Request a travel stipend
