Hi
If you came to my abstract portraits class last year, you might recognise this one. King Charles is mixed media - have a closer look and you might be able to see trees, maps, watercolour, gouache and pastel. The design references his connection with nature, travel, architecture and echoes tartan and watercolour landscapes. It's now available in my shop as a mug with the official coronation logo on one side and abstract portrait on the other. It's also available as a print (just ask). Ideal if you're looking for another portrait to go with the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee one!
Actually this took a lot longer than I thought, The intuitive art - the collage- was fairly quick, but I always forget how long it takes to tweak things. In this case it was another day of Photoshop trying to get the tonal values right, then getting proofs from the printer. The colours always look different on paper to the screen, often darker, so that took a second day of tweaks. But amazingly even though I am still knee deep in bubblewrap and boxes about to move house, I have somehow managed to get these mugs and prints into the shop BEFORE the coronation. Is it possible I may be getting more organised? Or maybe just luck...
