"Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, [even] unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound."  2 Timothy 2:9 KJV

Do not fret! The Bible is filled with biblical promises that are powerful and reassuring. Scriptures teach us Gods promises to help aid us in overcoming life’s challenges. The Bible is the ultimate source for truth and God is faithful to fulfill all His promises.

Psalm 37:1-9 advises us to not fret over life’s challenges. It reads…”Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.”

These incredible words of hope of the Psalmist encourage us as believers to not worry, or become angry. They encourage us to trust in the Lord, strive to do good, and wait patiently for God to justly work out our circumstances and challenges. This biblical promise assures us that the righteous will prevail in all circumstances while the wicked will be defeated and destroyed.

To God Be The Glory for the powerful Biblical Promises of God. Instead of focusing on the apparent success of evildoers, believers are advised to put all of their hope and trust in the Lord. God is faithful to keep His promises which allows believers to peacefully rest in His Word through any and all circumstances!

Here we will feature recipes from the 40 Year Christian Group. This week's recipe was submitted by Sister Alyce Emerson from Nutrition Education Program, UK Cooperative Extension Service.

Cheesy Pumpkin Pasta Bake

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

• Nonstick cooking spray
• 2 cups dry penne pasta (or any short pasta such as bowtie)
• 11/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
• 1 small, sweet onion, diced
• 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
• 1 cup low-fat milk
• 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
• 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
• 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs

Directions

1. Wash hands with warm water and soap, scrubbing for at least 20 seconds.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
3. Spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
4. Cook pasta according to package instructions.
   Drain and set aside.
5. While pasta cooks, in a large skillet over medium heat, melt half of the butter. Add the onion and cook until tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.
6. Reduce heat to low and add the pumpkin puree, milk, cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, thyme, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using) to the skillet.
   Stir to combine until cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
7. Add the pasta to the sauce and gently combine. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
8. Melt the remaining butter in a small bowl and add panko breadcrumbs. Stir to combine and sprinkle evenly over the pasta.
9. Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes or until heated through.
10. Sprinkle with the remaining
    1/4 cup parmesan before serving. Refrigerate leftovers within two hours.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

What is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM)?

BCAM is a global campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer, increase screenings, and provide critical support for patients and survivors. Since 1989, increased awareness through campaigns like BCAM has helped reduce breast cancer deaths in the United States by 44%.

October was chosen to honor the efforts of early advocates and coincide with global research events. The pink ribbon became a symbol of hope and action during this time.
