54th IAF Council of Delegates Meeting 2022

The proposed dates for the 2022 IAF Council of Delegates Meeting are chosen to fit in with the start of the hunting season in Pakistan, which will allow delegates to see the hawking provided by the Pakistan Falconers’ Club in the Punjab Province, near Islamabad.

14th November – arrival of IAF secretariat team
15th November – arrival of delegates
16th November 09.00 – 11.30 first part IAF Council of Delegates Meeting
16th November 11.30 - 1600 first part of Pakistan conservation workshop
17th November 09.00 – 11.30 second part of IAF Meeting
17th November 11.30 – 16.00 second part Pakistan conservation workshop
18th November – visit to Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage and museum and cultural workshop event
19th November – hawking in the Punjab or tourist visit to be arranged
20th November – hawking in the Punjab
21st November – departure of the delegates

We are hoping to reserve the Margala Hotel in Islamabad. It is near the airport, offers transportation for guests arriving and departing and is situated off the road in a green landscape. Security is UNDSS certificated, so is the hotel of choice for visiting officials and government guests. The food is of a high standard and so are the meeting room facilities. The manager is putting together a package to include everything needed. Initial estimates put the cost of a two-person room at US$80 a night, which is affordable for the vast majority of delegates.

World Falconry Congress for the Spanish speaking falconry community

The World Falconry Congress for the Spanish speaking falconry community took place on the 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th of February bringing together a panel of falconry experts in order to share knowledge and experience all over the Spanish-speaking world, take advantage of new technologies, and apply them to what we are most passionate about, Falconry.

This second edition featured 16 experts from different fields of falconry, ranging from food biosecurity to the prevention of infectious and parasitic diseases.

This completely digital event overcame barriers by facilitating the participation of people from 18 different countries thus once again demonstrating the uniting potential of falconry.

IAF congratulates the organisers for putting together such a versatile and successful event for the second year running. For those who missed this event, recordings may be found on the events website.
