All music recitals at Chara are free admission; however, we always support organizations serving our community and children in the area.
Our focus during the spring concerts is Part of the Art Foundation, which awards scholarships to children of public servants, clergy, foster families and single parents for study in the arts.
This organization provides arts opportunities for children who possess great passion but need financial assistance. Donations can be made at any of our music concerts. Your support is greatly appreciated!
The Ultimate Practice Challenge
Parents, want to encourage your students to practice for recital? Musicians are invited to show their practice acumen in The Ultimate Practice Challenge. During 4 weeks before recital, students compete in fun categories to show off their practice skills:
Pets versus non-pets
Hair color and lesson days facing off against each other
The ultimate competition - girls versus boys
Each week starting April 12, students receive a special sheet at lessons to record their practice time, then bring the sheet to lessons the following week for tally.
Results will be posted on our challenge board in the Chara studio lobby. The final week we will give kids an opportunity to earn individual prizes. The good news, parents, is that YOU don't have to do anything except cheer your student on! It is student responsibility to fill in times and get it back to their teachers. It will be a competition like no other, so watch for the opening details and first practice sheet the week of April 12. Make some Joyous Noise!
July Music Pause
We highly recommend all music lessons be ongoing and continuous; however, Chara allows private music students to enjoy a "break" in July during the summer months. During this pause, families retain their normal music time and pay only a $10 fee during this one month break if you choose it. If this is something you are interested in, please fill out the form below by June 11th. Students who drop lessons over the summer will relinquish their lesson time and may not find a more suitable time for next school year.
