Best Writing Newsletter

ISSUE #1 • JULY 28, 2022 • ALICANTE, SPAIN

Welcome to a fresh new edition of the Best Writing Newsletter.

Featuring great reads, cool tools, jobs, tips, and friendly encouragement to do your best writing.

“Those who write are writers. Those who wait are waiters.” – A. Lee Martinez

👋 Hi! I’m Tom, co-founder of Best Writing.

I’ll be the one writing and sending you these newsletters every Thursday.

A month ago, I started training padel, a mix between tennis and squash, and usually played in doubles. 🎾

It’s an exciting sport but also more difficult than it looks.

It sucks to start anything. It’s easy to justify yourself and quit. But I’m repeating timeless Goethe’s words to myself, “everything is hard before it is easy,” and keep going.

I used to write and send a weekly personal newsletter, but then I started working on Best Writing, life happened, and I didn’t have much time to do it anymore.

It’s been way too long, and I want to get back to newsletter writing.

So here I am, starting over again and trusting the process of just showing up.

It won’t be easy, but I’ll endure and keep writing.

I’ll be grateful if you can help me out by responding with your ideas, suggestions, and feedback (good and bad).

My favorite part of producing newsletters is getting responses from fellow writers and creators like you.

Let’s go!

Writing Tip of the Week

People don’t buy products. They buy better versions of themselves.

When you’re trying to win customers, are you listing the attributes of the flower or describing how awesome it is to throw fireballs? ☄️

Here’s an instant classic from UserOnboard vividly illustrating the difference between features vs. benefits.
