Experience the European premiere of "Afterglow, low lingering slips of light" by acclaimed Finnish choreographer Anna Maria Häkkinen (b. 1981), whose mesmerizing dance performance captivated audiences in New York. Originally created for the Performa Biennial in November 2023, the production comes to Tallinn this February.  

Afterglow refers to the glow after sunset, the echo after an intense moment in both nature and human interactions. The collaboration unites talented emerging dance artists from New York and Helsinki, creating a unique synergy that breathes life into this extraordinary artistic project. One night only in Tallinn and limited tickets available!

Flo Kasearu’s (b. 1985) exhibition "BANANA - Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anyone" considers the dynamics of public and private space through the lens of the “Not in My Backyard” phenomenon. The exhibition engages visitors in conversations around urban and rural development, public participation, local values, and property rights. Offering visual, auditory, and tactile experiences, BANANA combines installations, paintings, video, photography, and sculpture to explore ideas of exclusion, inclusion, and the complexities of land use.

Kai Art Center’s fall season opens with a duo exhibition by Sirje Runge
(b. 1950) and Tanja Muravskaja (b. 1978). Centering on fragility as both a conceptual and material lens, this cross-generational dialogue invites viewers to inhabit the in-betweenness of matter and thought, light and shadow, creation and dissolution. Sirje Runge, one of the most prominent Estonian artists of the post-war period, is a seeker whose practice exists as a luminous interrogation of art’s most elemental concerns: light, color, and matter. Tanja Muravskaja, best known for her incisive photographic and video-based works addressing themes of identity and power, has recently turned her attention to exploring light, reflections, and the elemental properties of the photographic image. Together, Runge and Muravskaja remind us that the power of art often lies in its ability to hold contradictions, embrace impermanence, and transform the fleeting into something enduring. “On Fragile Grounds” is presented as part of the main program of the 8th Tallinn Photomonth taking place from September 5th to October 31st, 2025.
