But first . . . 

What's on your reading list for the remainder of the summer?  I've got a queue that is extensive.  I bet you do, too.  And I'll squeeze in some reading.  I'm sure of it. Reading is so important for the brain and for the heart and soul.  Right?  Reading gives us an escape.  Reading entertains us.  Reading is vital to surviving in a world that seems to be filled with chaos!  So please, read a lot.

Writing also feeds my heart and soul and stimulates my little gray cells.  For the remainder of the summer and year, I must keep the creative juices flowing.  To that end, I completed a Fairy Garden novella that will come out in December.  I hope the fans of this series will pick it up.  Stay tuned.  How long is a novella? About 1/3 of a full book. It was like old home week spending time with my characters. Fun!

I also published ACCIDENTAL MURDER, a new standalone suspense novel.  (See more below)

Now, I'm starting work on the third in the Aroma Wellness Mysteries. 

Plus, I'm doing all the promotional work I should on Facebook, Instagram, and elsewhere for the books that will be coming out in September and October. Murder on the Page is coming out in trade paperback, and Murder by the Millions is coming out in hardcover.  You can pre-order either or both using the links below. 

An author's work is NEVER done!  

Perhaps I should consider taking a mini-vacation and spend an afternoon off with a good book!  What a novel idea!  I'm scheduling it.  For next week.  Maybe the week after.  Ha!

This recipe is from ESSENCE OF FOUL PLAY.  It includes turmeric, a very healthful spice. Curcumin, the most active ingredient in turmeric, is a strong antioxidant and has powerful anti-inflammatory effects. Granted, not everyone loves the flavor of turmeric. It's like strong curry. So be sparing as you use it. I like a half teaspoon.

Raspberry Turmeric Smoothie

(Yield: 1 beverage)

• 2 tablespoons coconut collagen protein * (See below)
• 1 tablespoon MCT oil or coconut oil
• 2 tablespoons acacia fiber
• 1 cup milk or almond milk
• 1/2 teaspoon turmeric maca powder
• 1/4 cup fresh raspberries
• 1/2 cup crushed ice

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender, and blend to the desired consistency.

*I used Primal Kitchen Vanilla Coconut Collagen Protein. It’s keto certified and paleo friendly. No gluten, refined sugar, dairy, whey, or soy ingredients. Good for your hair, skin, and nails.

*MCT oil is a medium-chain triglyceride oil and is easily digested and absorbed by the body. It provides quick energy.

Sparky had some visitors this past week.  My grandnephews adore him and he adores them.  It was a nearly tearful goodbye.  Later on, I tried to explain to my sweet dog that they wouldn't be coming back for a few months.  He was lost!
