The Fridge Magnets + Bill Tatnell - 7.30pm
NEWCASTLE: The Fridge Magnets (Jeff Browne & Tim Fretten) & Bill Tatnell. With a love of harmony & interesting arrangements, Jeff & Tim perform a mix of song styles from contemporary to blues to Appalachian & much more. Their take on the world, with a mix of carefully selected covers & original songs. Jeff lived in Newcastle for many years before moving back to Port Macquarie. Fridge Magnets performances have been well received & they featured at the recent Clarence Valley Camp Oven Festival. Bill Tatnell, a Newcastle songman, has rarely performed, apart from living rooms, verandahs & campfires, since his bush band days in Broken Hill in the 1980s. He has developed a unique fingerpicking & musical style to accompany his wide variety of original songs, about place, social justice, relationships. Over the past 30 months Bill has focused on writing, arranging & recording his songs, collected together over past decades, with over 40 of his songs now published for the first time. He looks forward to sharing a selection at his first live performance for many years.
