Could you be one of the IGA's Board members?
The IGA will be holding elections to form its new board ahead of the biennial members meeting in Leiden, The Netherlands. There are eleven places on the board, and nine vacancies to fill. Elections are open to candidates from member organisations interested in getting involved in the IGA's work.
The first term of office for a newly elected board member will be two years and then they may stand for re-election. The term of office of an existing board member will be four years. A co-opted board member may stand for election and if elected, their term of office will be two years.
If you do want to put yourself forward to join the IGA board you must:
Include a short written resume (no more than 500 words) to support your application.
Please read the IGA Board Profile and Competences document to get yourself familiar with responsibilities, expectations and competencies of board members. Please also read the IGA Strategic plan.
The form must be completed and signed by 3 additional people:
- your association’s chairperson, to support your application
- one representative from another member country, to propose your application
- one representative from one other member country, to second your proposal
According to our constitution, existing board members who are standing for re-election must be nominated by one full member who is not a board member at the time of the nomination
The closing date for all nominations is 15 April 2022.
If there are no more than nine nominations:
These applicants will automatically be granted board membership and we will send confirmation of the new board to all members by Monday 18 April 2022. The new board will not take office until after the conclusion of the IGA’s biennial meeting on Sunday 8 May 2022 in Leiden, The Netherlands.
If there are more than nine nominations:
The written presentations submitted by each candidate will be sent out, together with a ballot paper with the names of all nominated applicants, to our members by Monday 18 April 2022 along with specific information on how to vote. The deadline for this vote will be 1 May 2022. Final results will be announced on by 7 May 2022.
