Xenophobia

Politicians

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, November 2, Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi, Alliance of Patriots: “No Turks, no Iranians, no Arabs or Syrians, we cannot take care of our own refugees. We should not accept any foreign refugees. We should take care of ourselves; the government has sacrificed and is still sacrificing our people and instead is taking care of aliens. We do not need anyone, we should take care of ourselves.”

Netgazeti, November 4; Pirveli news agency, November 4; Marshalpress, November 5; Pirveli news agency, November 6; Sakinformi, November 6; Georgian Public Broadcaster, Moambe, November 5; Imedi, Kronika, November 19, Mikheil Saakashvili, the third President of Georgia: “We need rich tourists, rich tourists from every part of the world. Those emaciated, ragged people, who arrive and bring their own sausages and cans to our country, will not make us richer. We need people from the Arab Emirates, not Bangladeshis, who are living here. I do not want anything from the Bangladeshis, simply they are workers. Indians – they do not have a lot of incomes… We need, for example, Sheikhs, where one man will leave as much money as 200 others. As a rule, they behave better, taking care of their own reputation. We need, each Georgian family, who works in the tourism sector – I have made a decisive contribution and I know this sector… we should develop this sector so that people earn money instead of facing problems, because there are some districts, where you cannot hear even a word in Georgian. It does not make me happy. I will be happy if Georgians become richer and Georgian business develops instead of those arriving from foreign countries, for whom it is the source of income.” https://www.myvideo.ge/?video_id=3704558

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, November 7, Jondi Bagaturia, Georgian Troupe: “Each nation, Armenians, Jews, each nation has its own diaspora somewhere. Nobody takes care of us, except of God and each other, and if we do not learn to protect each other, we will be trampled down. Our nation is dying away; our nation is ending its statehood, just know about it! We are the declining nation! Georgian Dream did its best to increase the number of emigrants by 700 000 and instead of these 700 000 emigrants, Iranians, Arabs and Indians arrived here. Should we vote for it?!

Media

Sakinformi, November 21, Givi Somkhishvili, author: “Such perfidy, when a Georgian man sells the land soaked with ancestors’ blood and tears, cannot be even assessed as treason! They have brought some aliens and now we cannot let our children out for fear of some maniacs.”

Civil society organizations

Asaval-Dasavali, November 12-18, Dimitri Lortkipanidze, the Primakov Georgian-Russian Public Center: “He [cultural attaché of the Iranian Embassy] did not say directly that they want to buy Georgian lands; he, however, hinted that Iran’s food problems can be solved through investing money in Georgian agriculture and then exporting agricultural products to Iran! So, Iranian investors will open firms here, produce goods and then export them to Iran! It means that the State of Iran stands behind Iranian expansion! It is no secret that this program is being implemented in Georgia with active participation of Iranian special services!... Visa free rules with Iran should be abolished! And not only with Iran, but also with India, Pakistan, Senegal, Nigeria, Iraq and all those countries whose citizens take the lead in Georgia in terms of seeking residence permits! We should think about our own national and state interests rather than about how expensively we can sell them!”

Society

Rezonansi, November 6, Kakhaber Jakeli, expert: “I do not say that we should ban them from entering the country, but moving of Iranians or others to Georgia should be associated with some economic effects. Otherwise, the risk is very high. They will arrive, bring their citizens, relatives and if one half of Iran runs to Georgia, there will be no Georgia any longer.”

Prime Time, November 5, Anzor Totadze, demographer: “The population of the municipalities of Georgian regions will be declined in 41 years. High rates of emigration, high mortality rates and arrival of foreign nationals in the regions will lead us to emigration and immigration death.”

Turkophobia

Politicians

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, November 13, Irma Inashvili, Alliance of Patriots: “We will wake up one day and Borjomi will be lost entirely with its gorge and God forbid, Batumi will be seized by the Turks as a result of the policy pursued by Saakashvili-Bokeria groups.”

Media

Georgia and World, November 21, Bakur Svanidze, journalist: “They made us accustomed to the fact that “treason” is a loyal attitude towards Russia, at least a desire to launch negotiations with it, and if we give Adjara back to Turkey, it will be a sign of “multiyear brotherhood” and nothing more!”

Society

Rustavi 2, Archevani, November 27, citizen: “…We are making a choice between protection of Armenians and migration of Armenians; we are making a choice between Christianity and final Turkization.”

Homophobia

Politicians

Asaval-Dasavali, November 12-18, Giorgi Kruashvili, Free Georgia: “Until the Georgian Dream and the National Movement do not stop praising betrayers and ass givers, instead of appreciating real patriots, let’s not talk with national slogans. Let’s declare homosexual men and lesbian women as national heroes.”

Alia

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, November 20, Gia Korkotashvili, Georgian Mission: “We do not want the anti-discrimination law; we do not want to see in our families that a boy marries a boy.”

Media

Georgia and World, November 1, Beso Barbakadze, journalist: “People are running away from Iran, Egypt, Russia, and Chechnya to Georgia… Shortly speaking, where these people [LGBT community members] cannot stay any longer, they are arriving in our country, demanding refugee statuses. And we are receiving them with enthusiasm, patting on their heads and posting in social networks if something unpleasant happens to them. Future generations are growing up looking at them and instead of learning that LGBT community is bad, they are learning that if you want to become successful, you should resemble them.”

Asaval-Dasavali, November 5-11, Giorgi Gigauri, journalist: “The Georgian Dream government should promise to ban anti-Orthodox and gay propaganda by law as well as to return national and Orthodox educational system to schools and higher educational institutions.”

Sakinformi, November 21, Georgia and World, November 22, Givi Somkhishvili, author: “Should you have any hopes when you have a Republican as the Parliamentary Chairman? Now, they tailored the LGBT law to themselves. Shalakho, catastrophic ministers from parasite parties,   plasticine President, public defender of depraved people… ”

Society

Asaval-Dasavali, November 12-18, Zakro Gigauri, teacher: “As soon as any pederast twists his ankle, it becomes impossible to take a microphone away from Eka Gigauri.”

Asaval-Dasavali, November 12-18, Andro Samkhtuashvili, physician: “Generally, gays, who have sexual attraction to men, have hormonal disorders. It is possible to change the rule of life of gays by means of Sujok therapy, but they actually do not have any such desire.”

Asaval-Dasavali, November 26 – December 2, Levan Mgaloblishvili (Pancho), singer: “In my youth, we have not seen sexual intercourse between men even in the movies and we could not even imagine that such things really happened. Now, a part of men cling to sexual minorities to gain dividends. Everyone has his own life, but it is alarming when gay pride parades and rallies are being held in the streets and our children are looking at it.”

Marshalpress, November 17, Gia Gabrichidze, journalist: “When the so called “main TV channel” informs the public with delight about “huge success” of a certain creature “Kesaria” at the  International Beauty Pageant and when people accidentally learn about the rehabilitated school No. 100 under the modern standards, a lot of projects implemented in Mtskheta and many other good deeds, let me say directly that the victory of Salome Zurabishvili (and I have no doubts about it) will be the achievement of only Georgian population, rather than the called PR experts with certificates on the walls.” Social network

Anti-western

Politicians

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, November 7, Jondi Bagaturia, Georgian Troupe: “The anti-discrimination law has been enacted against us. Simply, they are so eager to get appreciation from this Soros flock and the West… Do you know what should be said? Georgian Dream did not observe political pluralism. Since they fail to deserve appreciation with the level of democracy, they promote homosexuals and drug users and let them sit on people’s heads.”

Media

Georgia and World, November 1, Beso Barbakadze, journalist: “Preaching liberalism through print media and TV should be stopped; claiming that depravity is good should be stopped. We should not applaud to people with strange appearance and origin, who try to get their foothold in the society just due to this strangeness and who believe that their free behavior is their main quality. Otherwise, we will listen to similar stories more frequently and then our ear and mind will get accustomed to it. As we are saying, they just want to change our mind and gene, what, as scientists claim, needs millennia.”

Asaval-Dasavali, November 26 – December 2, Dito Chubinidze, journalist: “Briefly speaking, the institution, which should protect the Georgian nation’s vital interests and statehood, has gradually turned into the nest of gremlins enticed with foreign grants, where the souls and ideals of Ilia, Zviad and blessed Merab Kostava have been abused and humiliated. Instead, transgender Kesaria, ugly beauty of the National Movement’s sect, Khatuna Gogorishvili, who is a friend of former Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili and what is most important, all the depraved people are highly appreciated… The Georgian Public Defender’s office has turned into the residence of “Mamasha” (madam in brothel) of non-governmental organizations, where witches flying on broomsticks gather and outline their plans about who should be declared as “homophobes” or enemies of pederasts, who should be declared as persons using hate speech, as persons using the language of Asaval-Dasavali or as enemies of Identoba movement!”

Clerics

Asaval-Dasavali, November 12-18, Davit Isakadze, archpriest: “When we allowed unfaithfulness, cosmopolitism, depravity and degradation of consciousness to enter our country under the cover of democracy, as an epochal fashion and standard, we lost the most precious values, such as God, homeland and human. It was the biggest mistake made by our people and this is just when the degradation starts – when we turned our backs to the North and declared that everything what is coming from the West is good and useful!”

Civil society organizations

Georgia and World, November 8, Alexander Chachia, political analyst: “The nations, who undertake cultivation of these “western values”, will be degraded and annihilated. European nations have actually been left without the main moral landmark – Christian morality. Wishing not to lose their human face and not to turn into cattle, many convert to Islam. Large numbers of ethnic British, French, Dutch, Germans are converting to Islam. What attracts them to this religion is categorical rejection of depravity, as well as commitment to the family, respect of traditions, high moral standards in growing up children. Normal people understand that only based on such values it is possible to maintain an individual, family and nation. As for the pressure exerted by European structures, our society should get rid of worshiping them. It is funny and simultaneously disgusting to see how a group of swindlers from the European Parliament is arriving in Tbilisi to teach us how to live under their laws. People who are aware know that at least one half of the European Parliament is composed of adventurers, bribe takers, homosexuals, lesbians, who failed to show themselves off in their respective countries with positive activities.”

Gender

Politicians

Georgia and World, November 22, Levan Chachua, Georgian Idea: “Bidzina Ivanishvili is not allowed by his inner circle to listen to sound ideas. He is surrounded by bad people. Just imagine, they even persuaded this man to be posted on a billboard with the name of Salome Zurabishvili, a woman, under his image. The same was done by others – Kobakhidze, Dzidziguri, etc. The men wrote the name of a woman under their photos. Imagine how glad the transgender people living in Georgia will be looking at these billboards.”

Media

Georgia and World, November 21, Bakur Svanidze, journalist: “Former prosecutor, “circus artist” from Rustavi 2 TV, director general Nika Gvaramia staged another show for the neurasthenic women, using the F word against an elderly man [Iuri Mechitov] during live broadcast.”
