Learning how to coach can be easy.
Developing the skills of asking questions, listening and awareness.
Don’t get me wrong, they require practice.
And take a long time to master.
But you can make progress today.
Knowing when to coach.
Now that is a different beast.
When your mind is screaming at you. Just tell them what to do.
When you are distracted by 100 different priorities.
When you only have 5 minutes before your next meeting.
Coaching in the workplace is dynamic.
You need to decide in a split moment how to respond.
To tell or ask.
To listen or speak.
I’m still figuring this out.

- The person’s ability
