Well nothing like skipping right over January! I need a redo!
A ton has happened since I last chatted with you, and I hope this message finds you happy, healthy, and settling in to the new year nicely! But if your new year is going as quickly as mine is, then you will completely understand the sentiment that I would like to celebrate New Year's all over again.
The holidays were amazing, and I spent a lot of time seeing friends and family which is always grounding for me. If I'm honest, writing wasn't really a bit part of my activities as I was preparing for a new role within my Romance Writer's Group - Greater Detroit Romance Writers. I became president of the GDRW effective 1/1/22 and it has been a whirlwind of activity for me ever since. I am hoping that the responsibilities will level out and things will slow down enough starting this month that I will be able to start Athena's story back up.
Toward the end of January, my father passed and we are still processing what our lives will be like without him. It had me discussing with friends the whole idea of the "redo" theory and I couldn't agree more. It's been surprising, but at the same time very much expected, just how many emotional boxes need to be opened and sorted through when someone passes. I feel my creative writing may be delayed a while longer because of it, but I have been journaling and continuing with my blog, which has been cathartic.
I do have some promotions planned for the month, and have some upcoming live events I am very excited about in 2022. Will have announcements about those next month, in the meantime take care of yourself!
XO
