Not a lot was accomplished in my writer’s den this month, as John and I prepared for and went on a big adventure in New Zealand! (Why is it that packing takes up almost as much energy as actual travel??) The trip was challenging in many ways—the long voyage, a busy schedule, a completely new world, the BIG HIKES, traveling with a new family—eleven unknown people we hadn’t met but spent most of the hours of the day with—whānau in the Maori language.
