Lithuanian Airports Set a New Milestone: 6.6 Million Passengers Handled in 2024

Lithuanian Airports  reached a record-breaking 6.6 million passengers in 2024, an increase of nearly 10% compared to 2023. This result not only surpassed last year’s figures but also exceeded the previous record set in 2019, when 6.5 million passengers were served. 

Balanced growth was achieved across all three airports in 2024. Compared to 2023:

• passenger numbers at Vilnius Airport grew by 9% to 4.8 million, 
• Kaunas Airport saw a nearly 10% increase to 1.4 million, 
• and Palanga Airport experienced an impressive 23% growth, reaching 378,000 passengers.

Vilnius Airport's New Departures Terminal: Mass Testing Completed with 1,000 Volunteers

On January 11, a historic event took place at Vilnius Airport—a mass testing of the new departures terminal. 

Over 1,000 volunteers registered in record time back in November to participate in this crucial test. Acting as passengers for six simulated flights, the volunteers explored the new terminal and helped Lithuanian Airports teams assess their readiness for the terminal’s grand opening, scheduled for February.

Lithuanian Airports to Auction Two Land Plots at Vilnius Airport for Expansion of Aircraft Maintenance Hangars

Lithuanian Airports has launched two public land lease auctions on October 31st, both of which have been formed and prepared for potential tenants in the south-western part of Vilnius Airport. 

It is said that these plots could be used for the construction of hangars for the development of aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities.

Key Lithuanian Airports Projects in 2025: Continuing Expansion with €58 Million Investment

Last year, Lithuanian Airports achieved a passenger service record (6.6 million), marking a milestone in the company's efforts to maintain leadership in the Baltic region and continue its strategic growth. 

The company, which manages Vilnius, Kaunas, and Palanga airports, plans to carry out major projects this year that will allow for high-quality service for up to 10 million passengers annually. In 2025, over €58 million will be invested into the entire Lithuanian Airports network infrastructure.
