Antic Disposition return with A Midsummer Night's Dream at Bath Abbey, 8 – 29 August
When a handful of humans stumble into the magical realm of the fairies, the stage is set for a night of comical confusion in the moonlit woods. Can true love – and a little bit of magic – conjure up a happy ending before sunrise?
Following last year’s acclaimed Romeo and Juliet, Antic Disposition returns to bring Shakespeare’s most magical comedy to life with a promenade performance in this awe-inspiring setting.
Wander beneath the Abbey’s soaring arches, reimagined as a shimmering forest canopy, and journey through its hidden corners as fairies scheme, lovers quarrel and mischief unfolds in an unforgettable theatrical experience.
Monday to Saturday 7.45pm - 9.45pm | Bath Abbey, Kingston Parade, BA1 1LT

Recipe
Bolo do Caco
Sweetly savoury, crispy-crusted and comfortingly fluffy within, Bolo do Caco - one of Madeira’s iconic bakes - elevates a simple soft cheese/olive selection to stellar heights, makes a wonderful alternative to pitta or flatbread to accompany a summery antipasti array… and even works well as an anchor for bacon and eggs.

Breakfast with a Kick: Bandook Breakfast Review
"People say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and we were presented with a menu that takes this responsibility seriously. With glee, we spotted familiar British breakfast items mingling with the selection of Indian dishes: baked beans are reinvented as Masala Beans, and hash browns get a spicy makeover as Aloo Browns."

The White Company: Provence Collection
Late afternoon at the old farmhouse. Bare feet on sun-warmed flagstones, as you set the table for celebration beneath the wide branches. Sprigs of late lavender, smooth olive wood bowls. By the door, the old fig tree is heavy with dark fruit, ripe to pluck, filling the air with sweetness that mingles with the salt-twang of the distant sea.

KLICK
We recently began stocking an impressive new quarterly magazine for street photographers called KLICK. It has a fifth issue just out and we’ve struggled to keep in stock since it arrived. KLICK aims to build a community around the magazine in which both street and documentary photographers can show their work, share tips and ideas, provide reviews and articles and discuss anything going on in the scene. If you thought street photography was easy, it most certainly is not. It is an art, and the scene is extremely lively. This magazine invites you to submit your own work for consideration so, while we’ve got copies left, why not investigate?

Visceral: An Exhibition by Mima Adams 11 - 17 August
Visceral is a
show presenting the work of figurative painter Mima Adams. Put together over
the past three years, the show examines a range of subjects from realistic
landscapes to fiercely personal portraiture.
She explores both natural
and urban scenery from the perspective of a young person in an increasingly
desolate political and economic climate. This transition to adulthood has never
been more confusing – at once static and dizzying, mundane yet oversaturated.
This raw narrative is representational of emotional journeys rooted in
vulnerability. These contradictions within infatuation for the world’s beauty
echoes the work of the Romantics.
