12th October - 16th November 2021
This online training programme aims to help you explore Anna Chaplaincy for Older People, its origins, its development and some of the many ways that Anna Chaplain's practice.
Anna Chaplaincy for older people is a model of ministry that encompasses all, that promotes the value and worth of older people, wherever we meet together and in whatever circumstances. The focus of Anna Chaplains is to offer those we meet spiritual care, whether they have a faith or not. It is a ministry of being ‘present with’ people on their spiritual journey and so is deeply incarnational and yet also an immensely practical ministry.
The course will help you understand what Anna Chaplaincy offers older people, how this contributes to the mission and ministry of the church and the different forms that this ministry takes and help you discern your calling to this ministry.
There is no formal assessment but participants are asked to do background reading and preparation between the sessions.
Delivered over six sessions, each two hours long, the following topics are covered:
Session 1: Introducing Anna Chaplaincy
Session 2: Living the second half of life
Session 3: The spirituality of ageing
