Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
For your awareness, we pass along information regarding a Bluepoint Wind LLC Pre-Survey meeting with Tribal representatives scheduled for tomorrow, November 2, 2022 from 2-3 pm ET.
Bluepoint wind is seeking Tribal input on the development of its lease area OCS-A 0537 in the New York Bight region. Formerly named Ocean Winds East, Bluepoint Wind is a partnership between Ocean Winds, an international offshore wind energy company, and New York-based Global Infrastructure Partners. Over the coming years, Bluepoint Wind is seeking to develop an offshore wind project within the lease area to help the states of New York and New Jersey achieve their clean energy objectives.
To register for tomorrow's meeting via zoom, please click here. An agenda has also been shared.
The purpose of this meeting is for the Bluepoint Wind Survey Team and Qualified Marine Archaeologist to discuss Bluepoint Wind’s Geophysical and Geotechnical Survey Plans submitted to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and opportunities for engagement, such as participation in the viewing of visual logging and analysis of cultural core samples, etc. The Geophysical and Geotechnical Surveys will take place on the lease area and along potential export cable corridors (from the lease area to potential landfall locations) to characterize seabed conditions and identify archaeological resources to support the Construction and Operations Plan, including the Marine Archaeology Resources Assessment, and Project design and engineering.
