So
many words, so little time.
31 July marked the end of The Adventure Writer’s Competition for which I am honored to be a judge. This year's Round One had 71 entries which the judges winnowed down to ten for Round Two. The judges then further judged and ranked the top ten, rankings were tallied, and the top three novels determined. The top three went on to Dirk Cussler, Clive Cussler's son, who will read them and choose the winner on 25 September.
Pacifica (Linc Malloy Book 7) is through plotting and with about a quarter of the narrative in AVFD (Author’s Very First Draft). In a departure from earlier books, the story takes place in just two days (really a few hours) entirely on the Royal Research Ship Pacifica near the Galapagos Islands.
Work also continues at various rates on a few long-term projects. A paranormal psychological thriller entitled, Entangled, taking its name from the quantum physics effect, is further along in concept, research, plotting, characters, and with a few tentative scenes roughed out.
Of course, the science fiction story has had some small progress as has the sequel to Do No Harm.
As a reminder, in addition to ratings and reviews on Amazon, opportunities to rate and review my work are available on Goodreads and Bookbub.
