In the first six months of 2023, SVW achieved significant milestones. Our main activities still include wildlife rescue, breeding conservation, conservation research, education to raise awareness, reducing the use of wild animals, site protection, and law enforcement. These efforts aim to create a long-term, comprehensive solution for Vietnam's wildlife.
In wildlife rescue and breeding conservation, SVW's strong image and recognition have been maintained, and our patrolling and forest protection efforts have shown positive results. Our research team strives to support the development and implementation of effective conservation action plans and strategies, with a particular focus on pangolins and other endangered species, advancing wildlife conservation through scientific research and data-driven approaches.
Meanwhile, our Education and Awareness team focused on three main areas:
• Educating and raising awareness among communities in buffer zones
• Reducing the use of wildlife products
• Promoting sustainable livelihoods and ecotourism in five key areas
Two concluding workshops marked the end of our first demand reduction project in Vietnam, and the lessons learned will help refine and expand the model to five other provinces.
