Good morning! It's the beginning of the new week and we would like to feature some things from this week to get you started. Have a good day! Faithfully yours, Diocese of Calgary.
The theme of this year’s World Mission Day – “We cannot but speak about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20), is a summons to each of us to “own” and to bring to others what we bear in our hearts.
Let us remember especially all those who resolutely set out, leaving home and family behind, to bring the Gospel to all those places and people athirst for its saving message.

Saint Pope John Paul II Prayer for the Indigenous People of Canada
When visiting Fort Simpson, NWT, St. John Paul the Great affirmed the dignity of indigenous peoples in Canada and prayed for them. You can read Pope John Paul II's 1987 address during his visit here At the end of his address, he prayed and blessed the Indigenous People of Canada with this prayer:
May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, grant you, a spirit of wisdom and insight to know him clearly. May he enlighten your innermost vision that you may know the great hope to which he has called you.
