After realizing how little progress I made in my Unity game and the mindsets we learned from the Moonshot, I want to bring attention to the mindset of the monkey on the pedestal.
Imagine you're trying to teach a monkey to recite Shakespeare on a pedestal. Now to do this, you must make a pedestal and teach the monkey, and if you had a due date, would you rather spend your time teaching the monkey, or creating the pedestal?
You would of course spend more time teaching the monkey, because it's the most important thing in the project, even though it may seem like you aren't making progress. This applies to real life too.
For example, in my Unity game, I literally focused on making a powerup for the past two months, rather than tackling what's really important, like making the game multiplayer or making a map. If I changed my way of thinking back then, I would have made a lot more progress.
