May is Small Business Month

May is traditionally celebrated as Small Business Month. Specifically, the first week of May is Small Business Week.

Let's fill our Instagram Stories with love for other downtown businesses!

1. Post about another downtown business in your business Instagram Story. This can be an original post mentioning that biz or a share of a post.

2. Be sure to tag the biz AND @downtownmanchesterct in your story.

I will keep track of the stories that I see. During the month I will randomly choose up to 3 Downtown Businesses to receive a free parking permit. Watch our stories for more details!

You are also encouraged to find other ways to support locally owned businesses - as a business or as an individual.

Leave online reviews.
Shop, eat and conduct business locally.
Post on other social media accounts.

If you tag the District, I will do my best to share it on our accounts as well. Let's show some love for small businesses this month!

Butterfly Stroll Tote Bags

Watch for Joy This Week

Joy will be visiting all street-level businesses this week. If you will be open with something to sell (food, products, items) during the Butterfly Stroll, she will be dropping off your Butterfly Bingo supplies and instructions.

She will be asking if you would like to make a prize donation. We would love a few more items and some $10 gift certificates. Please consider if/what you will donate so that you are ready when she arrives.

All businesses, of all types, are still welcome to donate:

- Prizes

- Items for the Tote Bags

- Fliers/ Brochures / Business Cards for the Info Table

Please email Joy and she will come and pick up your items.
