NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme is "Keep the fire burning! Blak, loud, and proud!", celebrating the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture. Fire symbolises the connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
In supporting NAIDOC Week, we encourage you to make sure you’re appreciating culture, not appropriating it - you can do this by taking your lead from the right people for the right reasons.
