Hi, gorgeous.

How are you? What have you been up to? I've been working a ton and trying to do myself the kindness of striving for more rest before my body demands it of me. I get a lot of momentum, you know? Like if I'm working a lot, I just keep working. And if I am watching a Netflix show, I just kind of... well, you know, keep watching a Netflix show. Ha!

By the way, that's my sweet little family in the picture above. Josh is holding Eddie and that's Nika in the foreground–it's an outtake from a photo we took on Christmas Eve. I feel like it captures our general weird-ish vibe pretty well. :)

Okay, here are your five things for this week. ⏬

🤫 SNEAK PEEK – SAVE THE DATE
    1. free live class

I haven't announced it publicly yet, but I'm telling you here first: I'm going to be doing a free live class, so save the date if you're interested!

    MAKE YOUR PRACTICE BULLSH*T PROOF:

Dismantling the Lies of the Wellness Industrial Complex™ and Building Your Own Beautiful Path

    Wednesday Jan 29th

8 pm ET – live online

(By the way this is a real live class, not a recorded class where I pretend it's live. I hate it when people do that. No tricks here, just all the wisdom I can pack into an hour!) Sign up info will be in next week's newsletter, or just hit reply and I'll save you a spot.

    2. sonic meditations, tiki bars, textbooks

Some great stuff to read this week:

    TRAVEL TIP
    3. these are not drug baggies

I mean, they kind of are drug baggies, but those are not drugs. I find so many "travel hacks" to be so silly (and don't get me started on how much people love to shame over-packers!) but I love this travel thing that I started doing so much that I wanted to share.

It's hard to eat healthy on the road, so I've started carrying seeds in my bag that I can just sprinkle on whatever I'm eating. (These are hemp seeds, sesame seeds, and pumpkin seeds; I do this with nuts a lot, too.) It's a great way to get added nutrients on the road, and adds a ton of taste to stuff like bland road salads or takeout.

(My other baggie-related travel tip is that I always travel with an extra gallon baggie that I put over the hotel room remote. Nerdy, but germ free! And the remote still works fine.)

    4. 🔎experiment workbooks

I'm a pretty big fan of "not knowing" and in that spirit, I put together these cheesy (yet adorable?) experiment workbooks for the team at EFF THIS! Meditation.

They are basically Kindergarten-style lab books where we say, "I think maybe if I do X, perhaps Y will happen" and then we try it and see. The point isn't being right, the point is doing lots of fun experiments and enjoying iterative improvements. The person with the most completed experiment workbooks at the end of the year wins a prize. :)

Feel free to download the templates here and make them your own.

    5. a RHINO, sorry, ha!

I definitely called that cute baby rhino from last week's newsletter a baby hippo. Whoops!

But also here is a roundup of all the fun stuff on social media that I shared last year. It's got fun accounts, golden threads, adorable animals, all that jazz. Enjoy!

(My fave cute dog account is still Dr. Smashlove, and it is definitely a cure for a bad day. 🐶😍)

Hope your 2020 is off to a decent start so far. January can be really tough. If you're struggling at all, reach out to someone you trust. The bad times will pass. And the good times happen sometimes, too.

    Love,
