As always, while writing I saved my inspirations for the story on pinterest. Be sure to check it out here for a sneak peak!

I love to find figures who best represent to me our hero and heroine’s physical description, and also to find true houses or estates that I can model the setting after.

In each board there is also a segment for “themes” that includes some of my research. Which is where today’s historical fun fact comes from… If you are an avid regency reader, I'm sure you have heard of Covent Garden, but what about theatre outside of London? Theatres were built throughout England, where entertainment of various sorts was held. Rich and poor alike attended, with the rich in boxes beside the stage, to the poor in galleries. Theatre audiences could be rather rude, typically talking through the performances, often arriving late, and sometimes were even downright dangerous. Actors were often equated to the same status as servants, while actresses were often looked upon as prostitutes -- and many often were mistresses of the nobility.

With love,

Ellie

One Hell of a Prize

By Ju Ephraime

Left alone by her new husband, Cheyenne Edson has carved out a life for herself in the Utah Territory. Since her husband has not returned in three long years, and the word around town is that she’s alone, she’s become the target of every foul-mouthed, randy cowhand around. She has nothing to protect herself from these predators but her old shotgun and her half-breed dog, Demon.

When the enigmatic stranger, Theodore “Tipp” McCloud, comes to her cabin and offers his help, Cheyenne’s first reaction is to draw on him. Tipp leaves, but he takes a piece of Cheyenne with him. She can’t get the handsome stranger out of her mind.

Cheyenne needn’t worried. Tipp isn’t going anywhere—not without the woman who has a walk like slow-pouring honey and a voice to match. He vows nothing or no one will keep him from tasting her honey—not threats of her shotgun or attacks by her demon dog, so aptly named. He is determined that the prize will be his.
