Have you had a terrific summer? I hope so!
Mine has been pretty quiet. I’ve mainly been working on the next book. We went to Phoenix for a weekend to see our son, and it was hotter than the surface of the sun; I was glad to get back to Chicago where the weather has been pretty darn perfect this year. I’ve taken lots of walks along the lake where the breeze has been nice and cooling. We’ve taken advantage of all the outdoor dining options here, spent time on the Riverwalk and gone to some art fairs and street festivals. We’re gearing up for the best time of all in Chicago—September and October. That’s when I tell people to visit because the tourists are gone, kids are back in school, but the weather is still gorgeous, not too hot, not too cold, with tons of sunny days.
But there’s still some summer left! And I’m so happy that the paperback of California Golden has just been released so you can tuck it in your beach bag for that last long weekend of summer.
