Many counties and towns have passed face mask ordinances to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Read the Full list of Face Mask Ordinance across the state HERE.

The CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Make sure you wear your mask and that all clients are prepared with PPE before touring properties, meeting with lenders or closing attorneys!

It includes a list of action items businesses should take in the following scenarios:

  • An employee tests positive for COVID-19
  • An employee is sick with COVID-19 symptoms but has not been tested
  • An employee has been in close contact (within six feet or more than 15 minutes) with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
  • An employee has been in close contact with someone displaying COVD-19 symptoms but has not been tested
  • An employee who lives with someone who has been in close contact with someone displaying COVID-19 Symptoms and
  • An employee who is a restaurant patron at an establishment that later announces an employee at the restaurant is positive for COVID-19.

        Member Survey Coming Soon

In the coming weeks you will receive a Member Survey from PRAR.  We need your feedback to offer you the services you want.  We ask that you please participate.

As an incentive, 4 random individuals who complete the survey will receive a $25 Visa Gift Card for respond.  Thank you in advance for your help!

In addition, to give you a little information on two questions:

        1.  SCR Board of Directors voted earlier this year to Recommend all Local Associations in South Carolina adopt a new Membership Provision requiring all members take 6 additional Hours of Professional Development Education every License Renewal Cycle. Per NAR Bylaws this would have to pertain to Potential or Critical Liability for the Agent, in which the Association could offer though Lunch and Learns.  Depending on how the Survey Response is received, the PRAR Board will write a Policy to be clearly defined.

        2. PRAR Board has been looking at Safety APPS to help our Agents in the field.  Unfortunately, the cost is not affordable for the Association. However, we can get them a greatly reduced price far beyond what you, the member could get alone.  Below are some links to two different APPS.  Please review so when the Survey comes around, you can answer if this is something you would pay additional for in your Membership Dues.

Developers Adapt to Drive-Thru Events, Virtual Launch Parties

Typical launch events or broker happy hours may be a thing of the past for residential and commercial development projects. In the midst of the pandemic, developers are finding new ways to promote their projects, such as through drive-thru events and virtual launches.

The Real Deal reports how development companies Codina Partners, USAA Real Estate, and the leasing team at Fairchild Partners recently organized a caravan tour of a new industrial development. About 50 brokers attended without ever stepping foot outside of their cars. The idea, developers say, was inspired by car parades for children’s birthday parties during the pandemic.

You are here Home News and Commentary Daily News Home Sellers Are the ‘Missing Link’ in the Recovery

The lack of housing inventory continues to be buyers’ biggest hurdle. In June, the number of homes for sale plummeted nationwide, prompting® to call home sellers the “missing link” to an otherwise strong summer housing market.

The nation’s housing inventory decline has accelerated since May, and housing inventory dropped 27.4% year over year in June, according to®'s newly released housing report. That translates to about 363,000 fewer homes for sale this year.
