Congratulations to Sugarloaf High School - 2024 Focus on Safety Contest winners!

The competition, aimed at fostering a culture of safety among young workers, received an impressive array of submissions from students across the province this year, showcasing the importance of workplace safety.

Second place went to École L'Odyssée de Moncton and third place went to Sussex Regional High School. 

Engage with us! WorkSafeNB is considering a merger of the Firefighters' Compensation Act and the Workers' Compensation Act and expanding the list of presumptive cancers available to firefighters. This consultation is open until May 31, 2024.

WorkSafeNB has developed an information package to help introduce health care partners to WorkSafeNB’s network of care. Health care professionals play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of New Brunswick workers. They’re at the forefront, delivering essential rehabilitation and assessment services that allow workers to get back to work and daily activities. As such, we want to set them up for success – with knowledge, tools and connections to help them best support injured workers.

Employers and employees are strongly advised to choose Type 2, Class E headwear, as it will be mandatory on project sites in the future.

WorkSafeNB is pleased to partner with the New Brunswick Domestic/Intimate Partner Violence (DIPV) in the Workplace Committee to launch a new five module e-course entitled It’s Your Business: A Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence (DIPV) Workplace Toolkit.

The course will help all members of a workplace develop practical tools to support employees and co-workers whose safety may be breached.

Supporting new and young workers is important for fostering a long-term safety culture. Proper education and practice can help prepare new and young workers for a lifetime of safety. Make sure you're prepared for the arrival of new and young workers this summer.
