Hi ,
Summer holidays can often come as a shock to any working parent, but the shock was much greater for our family this week...
We've tried to be really careful throughout the whole pandemic so far. We've not had covid in the family during the past 18 months, but we were asked to isolate on Friday, before our eldest daughter, who's 8, started feeling unwell on Saturday. Sunday she tested positive for Covid so it's been quite a shock!
Fortunately she's had no more than a headache and a bit of an ache all over, and the rest of us haven't got it (Laura and I tested negative thankfully).
It just goes to show, that even being careful, it's still possible so please stay safe out there as things continue to start back up again. I'd strongly encourage anyone to get their vaccine as I believe this is what's protected us so far.
There's plenty on around Hull again this week, with more gigs and activities than we've had in a long time. For the next 6 weeks, you won't be short of things to do and we'll do our usual best to keep you in the loop about everything going on around Hull.
I hope you enjoy this week's newsletter. Don't forget, we have plenty of news stories every day now so if you'd like to keep up with it, our new Daily Dose brings you the latest stories every evening by email. Just go to your subscription settings and tick 'Daily Dose of Hull News', then 'Save Changes'.
Have a great week!
