As we continue progressing with the regional changes process, some visits have had to be adjusted for many users. During this process, we noticed an inconvenience related to cases where visits needed to be updated for past trips.

Because the system originally required exact dates, it became extremely difficult to go back and correct trip information when a region changed or when older trips needed to be reassigned.

To make this easier, we have slightly expanded the Trips Functionality.

You now have the option to choose either the exact date of a trip or simply the year of the trip when updating past visits.

This change should make it much simpler to adjust historical trips without needing to find or remember precise dates.

Please note that for the most accurate travel data we still recommend entering the exact date whenever possible. However, the choice is yours — we are now providing a more flexible option to indicate only the year of the visit, which will also align smoothly with the system.

This is something many of you have been asking for. Enjoy! 🙂

Midway for the Regions Review Process

We are midway through the regional review process and have currently reached 1,332 regions, up from 1,301 at the beginning of this year.

To keep track of all updates, we are following a dedicated roadmap and documenting every change in a special section of the blog on our website.

So far, we’ve released the following batches:

Next week, you can expect changes covering African countriesAfter that, the only remaining batches will be Latin America, Oceania, and China.

Ultimately, we will conduct one final general review to make any remaining adjustments and publish a comprehensive summary of all changes.

At this point, we expect to complete the project by early to mid-May. Let’s stay on track with the roadmap. 🚀

Update on Jordan

Last week we asked your feedback on Jordan which is technically due for one additional region according to the Optimal Score 3.56.

In order to add another region to Jordan, we would keep Aqaba/Wadi Rum as is, create a Central Jordan (Petra) area and a Northern Jordan (Amman) area and also a big eastern desert area where there is little to see and do.

Now that the voting has taken place, it’s safe to say that Jordan will remain with its original three regions. Thank you for your feedback.

Interview - Nasser Almohannadi

What does it truly take to visit every country in the world across four decades, all while maintaining a demanding full-time career and rarely speaking about your travels?

In this interview, Nasser Almohannadi reveals how a childhood fascination with a simple school atlas evolved into a lifelong pursuit of global discovery.

From overcoming complex visa hurdles and braving hurricane season in the Caribbean, to standing in Bolivia’s “upside-down city” and embracing the belief that “contentment is an inexhaustible treasure,” his journey is not about collecting flags, rather about patience, endurance, and quiet determination.
