If you look at the end of the Haggadah, you will see a poem that begins with the words, “and it was at midnight”, in Hebrew ויהי בחצי הלילה . You did many miracles at night. It was after the Shabbos rest, at night You rescued your children in the dark of night
It was at midnight He struck the chosen people at night It was on the 6th of Nissan at night time It was at midnight The enemy sent his arrows at night
Drones and ballistic missiles at night
Every form of evil was sent that night
It was at midnight The enemy delighted and mocked us at night
To confuse the defense we set up at night
To destroy those who accept the yoke of Hashem's service at night
It was at midnight You were awake, You prevailed over him by disturbing his sleep that night
You defended us the way birds defend their nests that night
You destroyed their armies that night
It was at midnight You waved your arrows towards him at night
They collapsed and fell at night
You were like an eagle protecting its young, you guarded us at night
It was at midnight The heavens were filled with brilliant fire that night
Thunder and lighting in the firmament that night
You spread a curtain protecting Your people that night
It was at midnight You made a covenant with us that night
You sent the Americans and the British that night
You had even the French and the Jordanians join with us that night
It was at midnight You protected us, the ones you love at night
The Guardian of Israel didn't slumber at night
You gave us signs and wonders at night
It was at midnight Make the day that we are waiting for come close, by day and night Let our eyes see Your salvation at night
Let the darkness of night be like day when it is night It was at midnight.
The Midrash says that Adam, who was the source of all of us sinned, leaving all of his descendants imperfect. Each of us is imperfect in his or her own way (how's that for PC?). You are judged only by how well you did in dealing with your own specific brand of imperfection. What happens if you fail? Hashem will help you, do miracles for you, pull you out of the hole you dig. The word "ness"., miracle, literally means flagpole, a means of seeing a flag that invisibly tells you Hashem is there, cares, loves and will turn the world over for us.
Our history repeats itself and this time we may finally be able to hear the music and the words
Pesach is here!
Love every miracle clothed moment.
