A road less traveled doesn’t make it any less of an adventure! Check out these fun pics from our long and winding trip from the Central Valley (near the little town of LeGrand) to the foothills on a long and winding road called: White Rock Road.

This goes from flat ag land to 2,000’ elevation, past rolling grazing hills, a dam we never knew existed (notice the poppies across the length of it), a magnificent pile of sand to scale, and a gurgling creek with the skeleton of a cow in it.

As we climbed upward, the terrain changed to giant boulders. This one we dubbed: Butt Cheek Rock….until we rounded the curve in the road. Then, it became Butt Hole Rock. 😉

We also stopped to pay our respects at a very old cemetery obviously compromised by the same flood that changed the course of our creek a few years back. It was sad to see the damage, but a few of the headstones had new flowers, which made me happy.

Finally, right before the road made a steep climb to the top of the summit, we had this stunning view of the valley below.

The drive downhill went much faster. 😉

Last week’s Q&ADo you love where you live right now? (Asking for a friend, ie., character. 😉)

This turned out to be a super interesting question. To my surprise (I’m routinely, surprised, aren’t I?), 98% of those who answered said, “Yes. I love where I am.” Your positivity positively made my day—especially in these difficult times.

Thanks to all who shared.

My two randomly selected winners this week are:

Jennifer Deghuee - YES
and
Rachel Morrell – Not so much

(Jennifer and Rachel congrats. Please email me your pick of either a $5 Starbucks or a $5 Amazon gift card.)

Q&A

This week’s Q&A: Have you ever kissed a cowboy/cowgirl? Y or N? (Did I mention my Work-In-Progress features a cowboy hero?)

(Two winners will be chosen by random drawing to receive either a $5 Starbucks gift card or a $5 Amazon gift card. Please reply the usual ways: email or on my DebraSalonenAuthor Facebook page.)

REMINDER: As a “Thank You,” I will be announcing one Property Sisters of Montana Grand Prize winner in my May 21/23 newsletter. (I’m still adding new items to the prize, including a print copy of MONTANA BLUEPRINT FOR LOVE.) The winning name will be randomly drawn from responses to Q&As from now through Mother’s Day and will also include anyone who leaves a review for MONTANA BLUEPRINT FOR LOVE or MEET ME IN MONTANA on any of the usual sales channels.

(Prize includes a tool pouch like the ones worn by the McCall sisters in the series, various hand tools including a hammer, tape measurer, adaptable screw driver, utility knife, gloves, carpenter’s pencil, marking pen and MORE. Additionally, there will be a $25 Gift Card TBD [I originally thought Lowes or Home Depot, but I will let the winner choose—Amazon is also an option.] Winning name will be announced in my newsletter. If winner fails to contact me within a week from announcement [Thursday-Thursday], an alternate name will be drawn until we have a winner.)

Stay well, my friends!

Happy reading,

Deb

PS: Today is the LAST CHANCE to take advantage of my 50% off discount at the Deb Salonen Bookstore (CODE: QJNULFD1HI) Have you read my Black Hills Rendezvous series yet? This deal is going…going…gone.

Next week: A guest travelogue & a Mother’s Day prize drawing for 2 lucky newsletter readers (you don’t have to be a mom to win).
