The Ancient Greek Novels

Did you know the ancient Greeks wrote novels? You are probably familar with writers such as Plato, Herodotus, Euripides, and Hesiod, but among the great collection of Greek literature which has survived to the present day is a fascinating group of texts. These prose texts date from 50 AD to sometime in the 300s AD and they tell fictional stories, all following a similar plot structure. This group of five novels (or romances, as they are also known) are explored in my latest blog.
