Brian Fitzherbert, our Vice-President will host this Saturday's breakfast discussion. Our President, Seth Grossman, and other Jewish members will instead observe Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. That holiday begins at sunset on Friday, September 15, and continues until sunset on Sunday, September 17.
Rosh Hashanah often begins in the evening with apples and honey and a pleasant family meal. However, like Yom Kippur, which occurs ten days later, Rosh Hashanah is also a solemn holiday of prayer and "remembering". Observant Jews reflect on their sins and shortcomings during the past year, apologize to those they wronged, and resolve to do better in the coming year.
