Hey friends, welcome to the weekly Stream Report, a newsletter from Gaming Careers covering important news and updates in gaming, streaming and content creation.

This past week has seen a range of announces across the industry and brands: Mixer to merge into Facebook Gaming, Elgato announces its entry into the microphone market, Twitch cancels its San Diego 2020 TwitchCon event, PC Projekt Red delay Cyberpunk 2077 again and EA Games teases some of the games coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Mixer Closing Operations, Streamers Moved to Facebook Gaming

Mixer announced today that it will be closing it's operations side and partnering with Facebook Gaming

On the 22nd July, all members of Mixer will be moved to the Facebook Gaming platform. Partners on the platform will be offered Partner status on the new platform as well as those participating in Mixer's open monetization program being offered similar on the new platform.

Prominent streamers Ninja & Shroud have chosen to not move to Facebook's platform, freeing them from their contracts and now open to negotiate with new platforms.

Review: Elgato's NEW Wave Microphones

Elgato recently announced their entry into the Microphone world with two new microphones: The Wave:1 and Wave:3.

Designed with professional Lewitt Audio technology, both microphones boast a number of leading edge, audio technology combined with Elgato's Wave Link software and integration with the Stream Deck.

I received both of these microphones to test and compared them against similarly priced microphones to gauge the difference. I put all my thoughts, along with a detailed test of their new Wave Link software, in this weeks video.

Chess Is Blowing Up On Twitch

One of the oldest games is also one of the fastest-growing on Twitch. Chess is quickly rising in popularity due to 5x US champion, Hikaru Nakamura, coaching some popular streamers.

TwitchCon 2020 Cancelled

Not unexpectedly, TwitchCon San Diego 2020 has officially been cancelled due to continuing restrictions on large gatherings and concerns for health and safety. 

Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed, Again

CD Projekt Red have announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be delayed again, from September 17th to November 19th citing further need to test and fix existing bugs.
