Back to Prom 5k

VINES and the Vestal Coal House are teaming up again. The Back to Prom 5k will be held June 2nd at 6pm. Walk or run.

We'll have a DJ & prom party post-race. Prizes for best prom outfits, fun awards, and official results! This run is open to all ages. Runners and walkers are encouraged to wear prom outfits

Sign up for Farm Share Online

Signing up for Farm Share is easier than ever. You can now sign up right on the VINES website through this online form. Choose from 10 locations across Broome County. You'll get a fresh box of veggies weekly, direct from local farms. Flexible payment options available. Open to everyone!

Green Thumb Workshops: Summer Series Announced

Come to one of VINES' free workshops and learn how to compost, identify plants in your garden, grill veggies to perfection, or preserve your own food! We have 4 workshops coming up in May: Composting, Gardening 101, and two Farm Share 101 workshops. 

Fresh off the press: check out the Summer Series of workshops (see image on the left, or visit the VINES website). 

All workshops are free and open to the public. A donation of $10 is suggested. Register for VINES at vinesgardens.org/events or call 607-218-2043.

Volunteer with VINES

Need to get outdoors & get your hands dirty? We have many volunteer opportunities this spring. Weekly volunteer days on the Farm start this Thursday:

  • Thursdays starting May 3rd: 9am-12pm at the Urban Farm, 16 Tudor Street 
  • Wednesdays starting May 9th: 1pm-4pm at the CHOW Farm, Lawrence Ave, Conklin

Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments, INC. (VINES) is an organization committed to developing a sustainable and just community food system. We do this by bringing together diverse groups of people, with a focus on youth development, to establish community gardens, urban agriculture and community green spaces.
