A robbery of an unidentified vessel has been reported taking place on the 11th Sept. at 00:35 LT off Lagos, Nigeria. 4 to 5 robbers in a wooden boat with big knives and steel bars boarded the vessel and stole a high-pressure machine hose.

This is the fourth incident to be reported in Nigerian waters this year. However, 14 incidents were reported in Nigerian waters in 2022, with 10 incidents involving local craft - either passenger boats or fishing vessels - being targeted.

While details remain scanty, incidents involving local craft range in severity regarding the nature of the incident to include; robbery, kidnapping, and/or passengers injured or killed during the attack. As such it is advised to take caution as incidents likely will involve armed individuals.
