One event will celebrate the new trail, the other is GHT's key annual fundraiser!
• Come Experience the New Trail at a morning open house from 9-noon in Phelps Lakefront Pines Park on Saturday, Sept. 4. Take a stroll on the newly completed Conover-Phelps Trail or bring your bike and helmet so can ride some or all of it!
• Register for or volunteer to help with GHT's key fundraising event, SepTimber Ride, on Sept. 11 in Eagle River.
We NEED your help! Completing a trail is huge news, but equally important is building on that success to move GHT's next trail project forward. To achieve that we need your help to ensure the success of SepTimber Ride. That outside event will go forward in person with due caution in view of the virus, and with all the special touches! Those include a great 26-mile trail ride or a 50K or 100K road ride, a delicious brat and beer lunch at Tribute Brewing Co., a chance to win great door prizes and to enter the Raffle to win a Trek Verve+ 2 e-bike or a SUP with paddle.
All the key roles are handled by a corps of volunteers. This year, we have a few roles remaining to be filled. Ride Director Mike Gerlach is looking for 2 people to help with set up on Friday (9/10) from 9-11 am, and on 9/11 people to help with raffle ticket sales (1-2 people 7-11 am ), registration (2 people 7-9 am), food tent (1 person 10-2 pm) , a parking attendant from 7-9 am, and breakdown ( 2 people from 2-4 pm).
To help with SepTimber Ride, contact Mike at mpgerlach@gmail.com.
