This morning was a trip to the vet (as was yesterday!) I recall when our family saw the vet once every three years (rabies vaccine) and if the dog or cat took ill. A large bag of dog food wasn’t expensive, and dogs ate meat scraps from the table. In fact, my cat loved chocolate milk, and I always shared mine. (I'm a chocolate milk fan and addict!) Now I realize how bad it was for him—but I’m sure Sib has forgiven me. I spent all my spare money on him, as he was always having urinary problems.
Things have changed so much for our pets—for the better, to be sure. I bring all of this up because lately it seems I am constantly taking an animal to the vet—two trips this week. This morning was Gracie’s turn, and at two, she was not a fan.
Here’s a couple of pictures (before vet and after vet below). She had her annual visit—and $400 later, we were home. You can see the difference in Gracie’s mood, although the first-hand experience to her panting really gives better perspective. In the first, she was happy and engaged. In the second, she was agitated, panting, and happy to leave me when we arrived home.
