Message from the Founders

This year has been quite extraordinary. We have seen so many of you Volunteer every weekend to support those experiencing homelessness. We are truly overwhelmed at the generosity of those who give of their time, donations of goods and financial support, all of this is why Perth Homeless Support Group Inc continues to be so effective.  This year we have been responsible for supporting over 10000 people who are homeless, living in cars, escaping domestic violence many of our first nations people and youth on the Street.

We want to thank our amazing Wrap around services, Shower Bus and the committed volunteers who make sure it is available each Sunday. Our terrific team of chiropractic support. Our Book team. Our extraordinary Food team that work so effectively to make sure there will be enough food each week. Thank you to our Outreach Leaders for your commitment to setting up every Sunday. For many of our financial supporters, we thank you. We all know it cost money to do what we do and we thank you for your continued support. We at PHSG wish all of our members a very Happy and Safe Christmas break.

Donations needed this Christmas

We are in need of donations so that we can make sure those experiencing homelessness have a great Christmas during our outreach.

We also have some volunteers who have given so much to PHSG over the last year but financially struggle, and we have some of the homeless recently find accommodation so we would love to be able to make up a few hampers to be distributed to help them out also.

The following donations would make such a difference and would be greatly appreciated and can be dropped to our depot in Bayswater weekdays between 10m and 2pm.

      • Fruit mince pies
      • Christmas pudding
      • Jelly

      Welcome Gethen

Hi Folks, my name is Gethen Sullivan. I’ve recently accepted a position with PHSG organisation on the Committee as Company Secretary.

I have a wealth of experience in Management, Computers / IT, Customer Service and Marketing. A real estate agent and music event host by trade, after my experience with all walks of life, both in the corporate sector and the music scene in Perth, and at the age of 40,

I decided that it was time for me to start giving back to society. I was put in contact with Ron & Michael of PHSG, and we hit it off from day 1. Since accepting the position, I’ve found everyone involved with PHSG to be welcoming, and most importantly kind-hearted. I get huge kick out of helping people, which is why my volunteer role as company secretary brings me so much joy. That added to the huge amount of appreciation we receive from those in need who attend our Sunday Outreach program, it is truly heart-warming. With a love for animals, meme’s and a zany sense of humour, I feel right at home with PHSG, and I am truly blessed to be part of the team.

Have a fantastic Merry Xmas everyone and a safe and happy new year.

      Volunteer of the month

Volunteer of the month this month was presented to Ray Dunbar.

Ray has been a important part of Perth homeless support group for a long time now and was chosen for our volunteer of the month because of his commitment and dedication to making sure our homeless pets are well taken care of.

Ray makes up little care packs that he distributes every Sunday at our outreach. Each pet gets enough to last them for the week.

Donations of all pet food, tinned and dry as well as collars and leads and flea and worm treatment will be greatly appreciated by ray and can be dropped to our depot in Bayswater.

Congratulations Ray on this well deserved award.
